Pub company fined £71,500 over fall
Thursday 4 February 2010The Punch Pub Company has been fined £65,000 and ordered to pay £6,500 costs after a visiting hygiene consultant fell through rotten timber steps at a Hemel Hempstead premises.
Environmental health officers found the company had consistently failed to replace the wooden steps despite the fact that they had been advised to replace the stairs with steel stairs. Instead the stairs were patched up on several occasions.
