£150,000 for bullied employee

Tuesday 19 January 2010

A former NHS manager has been awarded £150,000 following repeated bullying and harassment from her line manager over the course of 3 years.

The victim, who had worked for the NHS for 28 years, suffered a nervous breakdown following the abuse, which included sexual innuendos and aggressive behaviour.

Ian Millington comments,

"The case highlights the need for employers to foster a work environment that allows staff to voice speak out about bullying and abusive behaviour, and to implement systems that ensure such allegations are investigated in an objective fashion".
