New Tribunal limits announced

The annual change in compensation limits in employment tribunals comes into effect on 1 February 2010.  This year there are two unusual changes.  

Firstly, there is no change to the limit on a week's pay (which went up to £380 in October 2009 and will not rise again until February 2011).

Secondly, the maximum compensatory award in unfair dismissal cases decreases to £65,300 (from £66,200) for dismissals effective on or after 1 February.  This reduction in the maximum limit follows a fall in RPI.
